  $2,920 paid to the Board President for repairs the Declaration puts on owners

  Between 24 June and 17 July the Association paid Julian Esses five checks: for a toilet in his unit, and for a ceiling and air-conditioning service in his father’s townhouse. Article XXIII of the Declaration makes all three the owner’s expense. On 28 September the Board approved the payments after the fact, with two directors voting in favor. This is what owners were told at the meeting, and what the records show.

  The $1,200 the Association says I never paid for my leased parking space

  Rakesh Sarna, Julián Esses and Robert Zimmerman told owners I had no parking agreement and had never paid. I have a signed lease and prepaid $1,200 for the space. It is one line in the financial report management sends every director each month. They accused me needlessly, because they don't read it. What else aren't they reading?

  Your maintenance paid to unclog the Board President's toilet

  Five checks totaling $2,920, none of the invoices issued to the Association, and an approval log showing the payee approving his own payment. Every figure from the Association's own production of 15 September.
